Korzen Says Nothing Wrong With Soros Money
Posted on October 22, 2008, 8:08 AM | Deal W. Hudson

Chris Korzen sent me and Bill Donohue the following e-mail yesterday after I posted the story about the George Soros funding of the Catholic Left. Korzen denied receiving any from Soros, but then added,

“It would also be nice if you could explain exactly how taking money from OSI makes us part of the liberal anti-catholic establishment. They fund education, immigration, health care projects. All very much in line with Catholic social teaching.”

Chris Korzen, executive director, Catholics United

When Bill Donohue saw that message, he sent me the following:

“If the Catholic League were taking money from a profoundly anti-American, far right-wing, pro-abortion, anti-Semitic and anti-Catholic source, that would be the only issue that matters. Just substitute left-wing for right-wing and the result is exactly what Catholics United feels right at home defending. This speaks volumes about its identity. We'll make sure others know about this revealing statement.”

Bill Donohue, president, Catholic League for Civil and Religious Rights
